Notes
Ramon Laureano just checks the boxes for what you want in a fantasy player. Power? Check. Speed? Check. Elite-level defense? Check. Outside of walks, Laureano is the total package that fantasy players look for. He's not elite in any category, but as long as he continues to run and have an elite line-drive rate, he'll be a must-start option throughout the season.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Jeff McNeil feels like a late breakout player, but he just turned 28 years old. But one thing we know we need to judge players on is the entirety of their work, not just their most recent performance. With McNeil, if you look at his minor league numbers, you have to wonder if the power he showcased (23 home runs) - in a season where everyone else was hitting home runs - is for real. If it's not, he's a replaceable player, even at his premium position.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Laureano was never a big-time prospect but he certainly put on a show in just 123 games last year, knocking 24 homers with 13 steals and a .286 batting average. Over a full season, he could potentially end up around 30/20 but he does come with some risk.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
There were many skeptics after McNeil's strong rookie performance but it now clear that he is a hitter through and through. He'll again compete for the batting crown and seems likely to his 20+ homers once agin for the Mets this season.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Power/Speed combo players are tremendous roto fantasy assets, but he is still young and had some very rough patches in 2019. Not buying into this breakout that some people are expecting. 20/20 is certainly viable, but there will be ups and downs.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy
Will boost your average, will be a solid contributor elsewhere, and has position flexibility. Very solid pick at ADP.
