Notes
Ramon Laureano just checks the boxes for what you want in a fantasy player. Power? Check. Speed? Check. Elite-level defense? Check. Outside of walks, Laureano is the total package that fantasy players look for. He's not elite in any category, but as long as he continues to run and have an elite line-drive rate, he'll be a must-start option throughout the season.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Shiny new toy syndrome is one hell of a drug. There's no doubting Luis Robert's potential, and quite honestly, it's surprising that he isn't going higher with his ADP. We typically set the bar too high for rookies, and when you draft Robert, it's all about expectation. If you're expecting a superstar out of the gate, you'll probably be disappointed. If you are OK with a hybrid of Victor Robles and Yasiel Puig from 2019, you should be happy with drafting Robert here.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Laureano was never a big-time prospect but he certainly put on a show in just 123 games last year, knocking 24 homers with 13 steals and a .286 batting average. Over a full season, he could potentially end up around 30/20 but he does come with some risk.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Don't look now, but Robert was better than even Fernando Tatis in the minors. Much better. He does have holes in his swing but in 200 games, has still managed to bat .312. He has future 40/40 potential and could be a superstar even as a rookie this year.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Power/Speed combo players are tremendous roto fantasy assets, but he is still young and had some very rough patches in 2019. Not buying into this breakout that some people are expecting. 20/20 is certainly viable, but there will be ups and downs.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy
