Notes
Ramon Laureano just checks the boxes for what you want in a fantasy player. Power? Check. Speed? Check. Elite-level defense? Check. Outside of walks, Laureano is the total package that fantasy players look for. He's not elite in any category, but as long as he continues to run and have an elite line-drive rate, he'll be a must-start option throughout the season.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
We know that lineup protection doesn't actually exist, but leaving Comerica Park for Wrigley Field finally allowed Nick Castellanos to produce like the player we had hoped to see for years. Now, in Cincinnati, Castellanos goes to an even better ballpark, where he should be among the league leaders in doubles. The Cincy outfield is crowded, but Castellanos is locked into an everyday role. Draft him with confidence this year.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Laureano was never a big-time prospect but he certainly put on a show in just 123 games last year, knocking 24 homers with 13 steals and a .286 batting average. Over a full season, he could potentially end up around 30/20 but he does come with some risk.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Castellanos' numbers were continually deflated batting in the middle of a bad Tigers lineup and in a home park that greatly depressed power numbers. A move to Cincinnati should be just what the doctor ordered, and allow Castellanos to continue to build on his monster finish with the Cubs last year. While he may not hit the 50 homers he was on pace for with the Cubs or total the same 1.000 OPS, his numbers should look much closer to his 2019 second half than his first.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Power/Speed combo players are tremendous roto fantasy assets, but he is still young and had some very rough patches in 2019. Not buying into this breakout that some people are expecting. 20/20 is certainly viable, but there will be ups and downs.
Michael Petropoulos - BRoto Fantasy
Castellanos hit 25+ homers with a .290 BA again last season, and this year he'll get a sizeable ballpark factor upgrade so those numbers could both take another jump. No, he won't steal bases, but he is durable so you can bet the runs and RBIs will total 160+ for the fourth straight season.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
