Notes
Robles has been somewhat overshadowed by Juan Soto in Washington, but he had success in a brief stint with the Nationals last year and looks poised to break out in 2019. The projection systems generally expect Robles to steal at least 25 bases with low-double digit home runs and a batting average in the .275 range, which would probably be enough to make Robles worth deploying immediately, even in three outfielder leagues.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Peralta is a .293 career hitter, so it wasn't exactly a surprise that he hit .293 last year. What was shocking, however, was that he hit 30 home runs after never hitting more than 17 in any of his previous four Major League seasons. The power spike was backed up by a ton of hard contact, but his ground ball rate remained high, making a repeat quite unlikely. Buy Peralta for the batting average, and consider anything more than 20 home runs to be a bonus.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Everyone expected Washington's hot-shot outfielder prospect to break out in 2018. Only it was Juan Soto instead of Victor Robles, who suffered an elbow injury in spring training. The higher-rated of the two rising stars last year, Robles is poised to replace Bryce Harper in the Nationals' starting lineup. If given the chance, he has shown the ability to hit for contact with solid power and intriguing speed. Lorenzo Cain's name is frequently mentioned as a comparison, and the rookie's Steamer projections (.274/.335/.417, 12 HRs, 27 SBs) aren't all that far off from the Milwaukee outfielder. Robles' ADP could quickly rise in light of Harper signing with the Phillies.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
Peralta batted .293 with a .352 OBP and 14 homers in 2017, but drafters snoozed at his bounce-back campaign. Last year, he batted .293 with a .352 OBP … and 30 homers. And yet he's still fighting for a top-100 spot. Having previously never gone deep more than 17 times in a season, it's safe to project regression given his 29.2% fly-ball rate. An elevated hard-hit rate at least gives him hope of reaching 20 homers, which would make him a useful contributor with a high floor in batting average.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
If Alex Reyes doesn't make the Cardinals' rotation, Robles is far and away the favorite to win NL Rookie of the Year. Robles is a true five-tool talent that is polished enough to be a top 45 fantasy outfielder right away. The power may come a little later, but he will steal more than enough bases to warrant a mid-round pick.
