The Tamp Bay Rays have acquired OF Mallex Smith, minor league SS Carlos Vargas, and minor league LHP Ryan Yarbrough from the Seattle Mariners for LHP Drew Smyly. (Ken Rosenthal on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Mallex Smith becomes the fourth OF for a Rays team that likes to play matchups. If there is an injury anywhere in the Rays outfield Smith will have immediate value in the stolen base category. In re-draft leagues Smith is at best a flier. In dynasty leagues, Smith is worth holding onto.
