Santiago Casilla signs with A's

Santiago Casilla has signed a two-year, $11 million contract with the Oakland Athletics. The deal includes up to $3 million in additional performance bonuses. (Jesse Sanchez on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Casilla will stay in the Bay Area, moving from the Giants to the A's. He'll become an option for late-inning work with Oakland, and the contract would seem to indicate that he'll receive careful consideration for at least a setup role. The team has a bevy of late-inning arms with experience, so there could be another move coming in the next few months to address other needs in Oakland. Casilla lost his closer role last season, but he showed that he can still be a dependable late-inning RP if he's able to get his HRs allowed under control.
