Pablo Sandoval checks into training camp early

Pablo Sandoval checked into Boston's training camp in Fort Myers (Fla.) on Thursday well ahead of the Feb. 17 reporting date, Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports. Sandoval had posted images of himself on Instagram during the offseason, showing off what appears to be a slimmer physique. Thursday was the first time reporters got eyes on him in real life, and he appears to be somewhere between 25-30 pounds lighter than last season. (Boston Globe)
Fantasy Impact:
Sandoval has always taken heat for his shape and weight issues. This is a great sign that the veteran 3B is finally getting serious. Right now Sandoval is not being drafted as he has fallen off the fantasy map. He could be a sleeper pick for fantasy owners in deeper leagues as he has a good chance to win the Red Sox every day third base job.
