David Wright making progress for the Mets

by Chris Zolli | Mon, Feb 13th 7:26pm EST

David Wright took batting practice in Port St. Lucie today and will start throwing sometime this week as well. Wright has played just 75 regular-season games over the past two seasons because of serious spine issues. He had a .788 OPS in 37 games for the Mets last season (Newsday)

Fantasy Impact:

Wright has had a herniated disc in his neck and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, bad signs for a 37-year-old in a league without a DH. In his last full season, 2014, Wright only had a .694 OPS, falling off from his .904 OPS in 2013. Wright is not worthy of a look in mixed leagues currently, but could have value if he were traded to the American League and could be a DH.
