Julio Teheran 'sharp' in spring debut Sunday

by Steve Painter | Cubs Correspondent | Sun, Feb 26th 10:08pm EST

Julio Teheran was efficient in his two-inning spring debut Sunday against the Astros. He needed 30 pitches to get the work done, with 18 of those going for strikes. He allowed one hit with a walk, a strikeout, and one hit batter. Teheran said after the game that he was mostly working on his off-speed pitches while preparing for the WBC.

Fantasy Impact:

Teheran is primed for a solid campaign in 2017. The additions of Dickey, Colon, and Garcia should allow him to feel less pressure and continue to allow him to improve on his craft. He is a fierce competitor who wants to always show improvement. Last year was solid, but he will be better this year. Solid addition to any fantasy roster.
