Adrian Gonzalez (elbow) returns to action

by Eric Westlund | Tue, Mar 7th 3:36pm EST

After missing the first two weeks of spring training with elbow soreness, Adrian Gonzalez made two plate appearances as the designated hitter on Monday and returned to the lineup at first base on Tuesday. Gonzalez, who is scheduled to leave spring training after Tuesday's game to join Team Mexico in the World Baseball Classic, reported no discomfort after Monday's at-bats, stating: "The fact that everything feels good is all that really matters right now." Fantasy Impact:

Entering the twilight of an accomplished career, Gonzalez is being drafted in fantasy leagues as the 21st first baseman off the board, according to the ADP Consensus at FantasyPros. Batting in the middle of a solid lineup, Gonzalez is a fine investment at such a low price, but fantasy players should not expect upside beyond a .270/20/80 (AVG/HR/RBI) season with more platooning and rest days than earlier in his career.
