Masahiro Tanaka

Masahiro Tanaka part of Spring Training no-hitter

by Chris Zolli | Fri, Mar 17th 6:58pm EDT

Masahiro Tanaka allowed two walks in 4 1/3 hitless innings, helping the Yankees throw a no-hitter against the Tigers. Tanaka, who also had six strikeouts, allowed the only two baserunners of the game. He has yet to allow a run this Spring.

Fantasy Impact:

Coming off of a perfect four-inning appearance in his last start, Tanaka is looking like the ace that the Yankees need. While this is Spring Training, limiting baserunners and striking out a ton of batters are good indicators for dominance. Look at Tanaka as a mid-tier SP2 with top-10 SP upside after a season where he finished 7th in the AL Cy Young.
