Matt Garza strikes out five Dodgers over 3.2 innings on Tuesday

Matt Garza struck out five batters over 3.2 innings in his fifth Spring Training start of the season on Tuesday. He allowed six hits, one earned run and two walks. He did not factor into the decision.

Fantasy Impact:

Through five starts this spring, Garza has a 6.57 ERA and a 2.11 WHIP over 12.1 innings. His spring numbers have never been that great, so don't read too much into what you see here in 2017, but that doesn't mean he's going to morph into a viable mixed-league asset once the season starts. The Brewers will give Garza every opportunity to perform in the starting rotation this season, and they would love to trade him for a mid-level prospect at some point during the season if he can put up respectable numbers. Garza is in the final year of a four year contract that contains a vesting option for 2018.
