Bryan Mitchell allows three runs

by Chris Zolli | Sun, Mar 26th 2:40pm EDT

Bryan Mitchell allowed three runs on six hits in three innings against the Rays on Sunday. Mitchell walked two batters and struck out three, as we are now a week away from the MLB season starting. He has a 4.57 ERA this Spring.

Fantasy Impact:

Just as the Yankees think that they can make a decision at the back end of the rotation, there is another turn and Mitchell's poor performance is just that. Luis Severino pitched very well yesterday, potentially giving him the lead for the 4th spot in the Yankees rotation, and Mitchell allowing eight baserunners in three innings may have him waiting until the middle of April for a start. He stil has 22 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings this Spring and may be able to hold off Chad Green for the fifth spot in the Yankees rotation.
