Noah Syndergaard dominant on Opening Day; leaves early due to blister

by Nick Ritrivi | Mon, Apr 3rd 4:51pm EDT

Noah Syndergaard pitched six scoreless, dominant innings on Opening Day in the Mets' 6-0 win over Atlanta Monday afternoon. Syndergaard, who took a no-decision, was forced to leave the game early after six innings due to a blister on his middle finger. In his six innings of work, Syndergaard struck out seven, allowed only five hits and yielded no walks.

Fantasy Impact:

Syndergaard was as advertised on Opening Day. He was in complete control and topped out a few times at 100 mph against the Braves. He struggled slightly in the visiting sixth inning and, as we came to learn, it was due to a blister on his middle finger. Owners should monitor the situation although the broadcast on SNY seemed to think it was a minor issue which may only result in pushing back Thor's next start, scheduled against the Marlins for Saturday, by one day.
