Brandon McCarthy picked up a win over the Padres with six innings of two-run ball on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact:
McCarthy was masterful in his 78 pitch season debut. He nearly tossed six scoreless innings, but a two-out homer by Wil Myers on an 0-2 count gave San Diego their only run output of the day. McCarthy mixes his pitches well, and effectively attacks the strike zone, making him a viable streaming option whenever he is slated to start. He also carries GPP upside in DFS, depending on the matchup.
