Addison Reed works perfect ninth inning for first save

by Nick Ritrivi | Mon, Apr 10th 9:15am EDT

Filling in as Mets' closer while Jeurys Familia serves a 15-game suspension for domestic abuse, Addison Reed worked a perfect ninth inning on Sunday to preserve the Mets' 5-2 win over the Marlins. Reed struck out two in his one inning of work, picking up his first save of the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Familia should be back with the Mets within the next two weeks, which will move Reed back into his eighth inning setup role. Reed will retain value in leagues that reward holds after Familia returns. In saves-only leagues, Reed will continue to have saves value for the next two weeks. Once Familia returns, Reed owners will want to look elsewhere for saves help, although they may wish to retain Reed who can certainly help in the strikeout, ERA and WHIP categories.
