R.A. Dickey notches the win against San Diego Saturday night

by Steve Painter | Sat, Apr 15th 10:15pm EDT

R.A. Dickey did what good pitchers do, he had command issues to start the game but fought through them to earn a quality start and a win Saturday night against the Padres. Over six innings, he allowed seven hits and two runs (both earned) while walking one and striking out six. Both runs allowed came off of solo shots from Wil Myers and Austin Hedges. The win, a 4-2 victory, evens Dickey's record at 1-1, while the Braves, with a 3-game winning streak going, stand at 4-6. Next up for Dickey is Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals, Thursday in Atlanta.

Fantasy Impact:

This wasn't an easy game for Dickey, but he proved he still knows how to battle in a game where he lacks good command or at least starts off that way. His value lies in the number of innings he will give you and the fact he should receive adequate run support to engender a few wins.
