Tyler Clippard gets uneasy save against Cardinals

by Chris Zolli | Sun, Apr 16th 8:20am EDT

Tyler Clippard earned a save for the Yankees on Saturday afternoon, pitching in place of Aroldis Chapman. Clippard allowed a home run to Stephen Piscotty, and had the game-winning run on base, but closed down the game after striking out the side. Clippard has a 3.00 ERA this season.

Fantasy Impact:

Clippard was given his first save opportunity of the season after Chapman had pitched for three consecutive days, but almost gave the lead up in the ninth. The more important thing for Clippard is that he leads the team in holds with four, now has a save, and has nine strikeouts in six innings. He allowed a walk yesterday, his first walk allowed this season, but if he is able to keep his walks down, he could be a good addition in leagues that count holds.
