R.A. Dickey

R.A. Dickey outstanding in loss Thursday night

by Steve Painter | Thu, Apr 20th 11:01pm EDT

R.A. Dickey pitched an outstanding game Thursday night, going for seven innings and allowed three hits and three runs (all earned) while walking two and striking out three. One of the hits was a two-run homer off the bat of Ryan Zimmerman in the sixth inning. He threw 73 pitches and 53 of those were strikes, a nice 73%. But it was tough sledding as the Nats won 3-2, behind the strong effort of Stephen Strasburg. With the loss, Dickey's record falls to 1-2. Next up for him is Noah Syndergaard and the Mets, Wednesday in New York.

Fantasy Impact:

Dickey pitched a beautiful game, and he earned a quality start. Not much more you can ask for when you face Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals. Worth a look for deeper rotations.
