Jeurys Familia makes his first appearance of 2017

Jeurys Familia worked the top of the ninth inning (a non-save situation) in the Mets' 6-4 loss to the Phillies on Thursday night, marking his first appearance of 2017 following a 15-game suspension to start the season. Familia struggled with his control in his one inning of work, walking two batters, but he allowed no hits and also struck out two.

Fantasy Impact:

Manager Terry Collins wanted to preserve a two-run deficit to give the Mets a chance to come back against the Phillies and also get Familia some work, and work he did. Familia threw 30 pitches in his laborious inning of work, which of course now calls into question whether Familia will be available on Friday for the Mets' tilt against the rival Nationals. Collins' recent bullpen mismanagement aside, with Familia back in the closer fold, he becomes a must-start option in all formats that reward saves.
