Bartolo Colon earns quality start in loss to Phillies Friday night

by Steve Painter | Sat, Apr 22nd 12:36am EDT

Bartolo Colon was knocked around a bit on Friday night but was able to limit most significant damage over the seven innings he pitched. He allowed 11 hits and four runs while walking one and striking out four. Yes, he earned a quality start, but also was tagged with the loss, as the Braves fell 4-3. His record now stands at 1-2 on the year and he carries a 4.50 ERA into his next contest, against Matt Harvey and the Mets, Thursday in New York.

Fantasy Impact:

It wasn't because he was inefficient, as 71 of his 101 pitches were for strikes, rather, it was a story of location and that happens to Colon from time to time. He is still fodder for the back of rotations in deeper leagues.
