Dexter Fowler exits game with nagging heel pain

by Josh Loesche | Sat, Apr 22nd 10:30am EDT

Dexter Fowler was removed from the game in the fifth inning on Friday against the Brewers. Training staff evaluated Fowler after a play at third base in which Travis Shaw stepped on his hand, but was later removed due to nagging pain in his feel from bursitis. (St. Louis Cardinals website)

Fantasy Impact:

Fowler has been playing through this injury for a while now, but apparently it was worse on Friday. Although this does not sound like an issue that will keep him out of the lineup long, it may be a partial explanation for his slow start thus far. Fowler, who is hitting just .179 on the year, may be best left on the bench for now as he works through this minor injury.
