Miguel Cabrera placed on 10-day DL with groin strain

The Tigers have placed Miguel Cabrera on the 10-day disabled list with a groin strain. John Hicks was called up from Triple-A to replace Cabrera on the Tigers roster. (Jason Beck on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Cabrera hurt his groin fielding a ground ball on Friday night and was sent for an MRI on Saturday. No word yet on the severity of the injury, but the MRI results obviously showed something significant enough to immediately place Cabrera on the disabled list. With the new 10-day rule, teams appear more willing to make quick DL moves, so let's hope this is a relatively minor strain and that Cabrera will be back within two weeks.
