Luis Severino silences the Red Sox

by Chris Zolli | Mets Correspondent | Thu, Apr 27th 6:50am EDT

Luis Severino allowed three hits in seven scoreless innings against the Red Sox on Wednesday. Severino walked two batters and struck out six, earning his second win of the season. He has a 3.00 ERA this season and will face the Blue Jays on May 1.

Fantasy Impact:

This is now three consecutive quality starts from Severino, who has now played himself into a "must-start" pitcher with his 0.78 WHIP and .175 batting average allowed. The only bad thing from Severino's start was that he walked multiple batters for the first time this season, but he still has a sparkling 33:4 K:BB ratio. Current Blue Jays batters have a .929 OPS against Severino in 52 career at-bats against Severino, as Justin Smoak, Jose Bautista, and Kevin Pillar all have home runs off of the young right-hander.
