A.J. Griffin gets the win against Astros Thursday night

by Steve Painter | Fri, May 5th 1:51am EDT

A.J. Griffin limited the Astros to two runs over five innings as the Rangers' beat Houston 10-4 Thursday night. Over five, he allowed six hits and two runs (one earned) while walking one and striking out seven. With the win, Griffin's record improves to 3-0 on the year. Next up for him is Luis Perdomo and the Padres, Tuesday afternoon in San Diego.

Fantasy Impact:

Griffin's FIP stands at 4.23 and his ERA at 3.54, both of which are a bright spot in the Rangers' rotation right now. This is only his fourth game but he has yet to pitch beyond the sixth, and at this point that's not a negative. He'll need to improve that before becoming fodder for pick up or streaming but his numbers don't look bad thus far.
