Asdrubal Cabrera told reporters that he has a torn ligament in his left thumb. He's missed the past few games due to the ailment, and he could require a stint on the disabled list. (New York Daily News)
Fantasy Impact:
A DL trip seems imminent, though it hasn't been confirmed by the team to this point. While Cabrera has only posted an OPS of .719, he's been a decent fantasy contributor at a shallow SS position with three home runs, three stolen bases, 14 RBIs and 21 runs scored. Thumb injuries can have an impact on a player's power, so this will be something to monitor moving forward, even if Cabrera doesn't require time on the DL.
