Matt Garza roughed up by the Blue Jays on Wednesday afternoon

by JP Gale | Thu, May 25th 1:17am EDT

Matt Garza allowed six earned runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday afternoon. He allowed three home runs, and struck out five batters. It was his first loss of the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Garza's ERA balooned from 2.43 to 3.60 on Wednesday, and the three home runs allowed doubled his season total from three to six. Inter-league matchups are always funky, so take this outing with a little grain of salt, but it should definitely raise an eyebrow and make most owners proceed with caution moving forward. Before Wednesday, Garza had held his own, turning in four quality starts in five outings. If he is owned in your mixed league, chances are he's being dropped for another streamer, but his next start comes against the Mets at Citi Field on Monday, and he makes for a nice streamer if you can fit him on your roster or tournament lineup in DFS contests.
