Cody Allen blows first save of season

by Matthew Terelle | Thu, May 25th 6:44am EDT

Cody Allen blew his first save since August 17, 2016 when he allowed the Cincinnati Reds to score two runs in the top of the ninth inning on Wednesday. Billy Hamilton hit into what was originally ruled a game-winning double play, but Hamilton was ruled safe after replay review. A Zack Cozart two-run single on the ensuing at-bat gave the Reds a 4-3 win over the Indians.

Fantasy Impact:

Talk about a gut punch. The Indians were already celebrating the win when the Reds asked for the play to be reviewed. Allen falls to 0-2 on the season with a 2.29 ERA. He will bounce back and should remain locked into lineups as an excellent fantasy closer.
