Edwin Diaz earns save against the Nationals

by Kevin Black | Mets Correspondent | Thu, May 25th 4:14pm EDT

Edwin Diaz may have officially regained his duties as closer for the Seattle Mariners, as he tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Washington Nationals. He allowed a hit but did not walk anyone. It was his first save since May 9th.

Fantasy Impact:

Well, if you are in a shallow league and for whatever reason Diaz was dropped, it is time to scoop him up. The buy low opportunity on him is gone if he has officially regained the job of closer. Scott Servais, the team manager, commented last week Diaz's role demotion was merely a temporary measure to work on a few mechanical issues outside of high leverage in game situations. Diaz has the potential to be a top five closer here on out based on pure talent.
