Vincent Velasquez struck out seven Colorado Rockies and allowed just one run on Thursday, but he lasted just five innings and did not factor into the decision. He allowed eight hits and walked one batter but managed to limit the damage during his time in the game.
Fantasy Impact:
The good news is that Velasquez limited the damage, continued to strike people out at a high rate, and gave up only one run. The bad news is that he was once again inefficient and lasted just five innings while allowing too many baserunners. While he lowered his ERA to 5.55, his WHIP actually went up to 1.46. His next start is against the Marlins in Miami.
