Hector Santiago outdueled in start against Chris Archer and the Rays

by Kevin Black | Sat, May 27th 2:02am EDT

Hector Santiago took his third loss of the 2017 season on Friday as the Minnesota Twins struggled to score against Chris Archer and the Tampa Bay Rays. Santiago logged 5 1/3 innings of three run ball in which he surrendered three earned runs, four hits, two walks, and six strikeouts. Logan Morrison smacked a two run shot in the fourth inning.

Fantasy Impact:

Hector Santiago has been a serviceable fantasy commodity thus far in 2017. With the Twins exceeding expectations, Santiago's win total may be higher than projected in the preseason. Outside of that, Santiago does not provide value in the strikeout or ratio categories. In standard mixed leagues, he is a passable streamer at the moment.
