Alex Avila finished 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-2 loss to the White Sox.
Fantasy Impact:
With the fifth inning solo shot, Avila pulled the Tigers to within a run at 3-2 so he certainly tried to do his part in the losing effort. Avila is now slashing a ridiculous .354/.475/.659 with six homers and 20 RBI and, with fellow slugging backstop James McCann shelved, might be the fantasy catcher to own for the foreseeable future in just about all relevant formats.
