Brian Johnson throws a complete game shutout for Red Sox
by John Aubin | Sun, May 28th 6:55am EDT
Brian Johnson yielded just five hits over nine scoreless frames for his first career shutout Saturday in the Red Sox’s 6-0 win over the Mariners. The 26-year-old left-hander struck out eight and didn’t walk anyone.
Fantasy Impact:
Despite the dominant pitching performance by Johnson, he was optioned back to Triple-A. With David Price joining the rotation on Monday there is no room. This was just a spot start for Johnson no matter what the outcome. But he looked great and if anything happens to one of the starters in the rotation expect Johnson to get the call.
