Jason Vargas squared off against Danny Salazar Saturday, scattering nine hits. Those nine hits resulted in two runs. He walked two and also struck out two.
Fantasy Impact:
Vargas did not do anything particularly special during this outing, but he did enough to earn the win. Vargas has probably pitched worse than his numbers indicate this year, but overall he has a 2.39 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 51 Ks in 60 1/3 innings. His 4.39 xFIP indicates some negative regression is in order.
