Danny Duffy placed on 10-day DL with oblique strain; out 6-8 weeks

The Royals placed Danny Duffy on the 10-day disabled list on Monday with an oblique strain. Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports that Duffy is expected to miss six to eight weeks. (Jeffrey Flanagan on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Duffy apparently suffered the injury during a tumble at first base on Sunday. Duffy had been having a down season so far, with a 3.54 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and just 54 strikeouts in 68 2/3 innings. But still, his talent and upside made him a second starter in most mixed leagues, and his absence will hurt both the Royals and his fantasy owners. Obviously stash Duffy if you can, but if your team is incredibly injured, he's a potential drop candidate, given how much time he is expected to miss.
