Jacob deGrom shelled for seven runs in four innings against Brewers

by Nick Ritrivi | Rangers Correspondent | Thu, Jun 1st 10:12am EDT

Jacob deGrom took a huge step back on Wednesday against the Brewers when he was shellacked for seven earned runs in just four innings of work against the Brewers in the Mets' 7-1 loss. deGrom allowed eight hits, five walks and two HRs in his short stint. On the plus side, he did strike out six batters.

Fantasy Impact:

deGrom saw his season ERA rise to 3.97 and WHIP grow to 1.37. It's been a very uneven season for deGrom thus far. With an impressive K:BB ratio of 92/29 in just 68 IP and a BABIP of .338, signs point to deGrom's stats stabilizing toward his mean moving forward. He will just need to get his walk and HR rate (1.32 HR/9 IP) under control. He remains a must start despite the brutal outing on Wednesday.
