Adrian Beltre leaves Tuesday's game with jammed left ankle

by Dan Harris | Tue, Jun 6th 11:13pm EDT

Adrian Beltre was replaced by Pete Kozma in the top of the seventh inning of Tuesday's game against the Mets. It was reported that Beltre left the game as a precaution after jamming his left ankle in the first inning. (Stefan Stevenson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The Rangers were winning 10-4 at the time Beltre left the game, so there was no reason to push him, and the fact that he apparently injured the ankle in the first inning but played most of the game afterward is a positive sign. However, it's worth noting that Beltre is obviously an elder statesman of the game and more prone to injury, so fantasy owners would be wise to have a capable backup at third base ready. But for now, there doesn't appear to be any reason to worry.
