Hanley Ramirez reaches base four times in Sunday's loss

by Brad Richter | Mon, Jun 12th 2:52pm EDT

Hanley Ramirez collected two hits in three at-bats and drew a pair of walks in the Red Sox 8-3 loss to the Tigers on Sunday. Ramirez drove in one run with a RBI single in the first inning that he tried to extend to a double but was thrown out.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite his two-hit effort on Sunday, Ramirez is still just batting .222 so far in June. The 33-year-old DH has seen a drop in his power numbers this season with just 14 extra-base hits over a third of the way into the season compared to 59 extra-base hits last year. As a result, his counting stats in RBIs have also decreased. With a similar hard hit rate, line drive rate and fly ball rate to last season, look for Ramirez to start producing more extra-base hits over the rest of the season.
