Jacob deGrom bounces back in big way with CG win over Cubs

by Nick Ritrivi | Rangers Correspondent | Tue, Jun 13th 11:30am EDT

Jacob deGrom threw the Mets' first complete game of the 2017 season on Monday night, pitching a five hitter in the Mets' 6-1 win over the Cubs. deGrom (5-3) allowed only the five hits, four walks and one earned run while striking out six in his impressive win over a top-tier lineup. Coming off of two brutal starts against the Brewers and Rangers, respectively, this is just what the doctor ordered for deGrom, his fantasy owners and the Mets.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite the solid start, deGrom still holds an inflated 4.33 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 81 innings on the season, courtesy of his previous two starts. With a 100:34 K:BB ratio, look for deGrom to build on this solid start his next time out against the Nationals at home. Owners should continue to keep him active in all formats.
