Mike Trout (thumb) hopes to return before the All-Star break

Mike Trout said on Tuesday that he hopes to return from a torn left thumb ligament before the July 11 All-Star game, according to Angels beat writer Pedro Moura. “Before the All-Star break, right at the All-Star break, depending on how it goes,” Trout said. “I don't want to push it. I want to make sure it’s right. I don’t want it to be lingering the rest of the season.” (Pedro Moura on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Trout is the consensus best player in baseball and easily one of the most valuable fantasy contributors, so owners would obviously be thrilled to get him back on the short side of his initial 6-to-8 week recovery timeline. It is no guarantee that he will actually be able to return that early, but Trout's optimism is an indication that he feels good about his recovery so far.
