Dellin Betances keeps Yankees in the game
by Chris Zolli | Fri, Jun 16th 8:09am EDT
Dellin Betances worked out of danger in the 8th inning on Thursday night against Oakland and then pitched the ninth, allowing one hit in 1 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked two, getting the game to extra innings. Betances has a 0.42 ERA and 1.06 WHIP this season.
Fantasy Impact:
While allowing three baserunners is not a good thing, Betances did his job and kept the Yankees in the game. He has now struck out 41 batters in 21 2/3 innings and has not allowed an earned run since April 8. Betances' owners need to keep in mind that he is about to lose his job, though, as Aroldis Chapman could rejoin the team as early as Sunday.
