Pablo Sandoval (illness) heads to disabled list

Pablo Sandoval has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with the flu and an ear infection, according to Scott Lauber on Twitter. Infielders Deven Marrero and Sam Travis are being called up to take the places of Pablo Sandoval and reliever Austin Maddox, who is being optioned back to Triple-A. (Scott Lauber on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
An incredibly disappointing season continues for Sandoval, who can't stay on the field and can't seem to produce when he does get on it. His poor defense at third base and .212 batting average had Sandoval playing only part time recently, and his sizable contract is probably the only reason he is even still on Boston's roster. He is not relevant for fantasy purposes right now, even in deeper leagues.
