The Mets placed Zack Wheeler on the 10-day DL today, one day after Mets' officials insisted he is fine physically, with biceps tendinitis. Wheeler is expected to miss just one start. (Anthony DiComo on Twitter )

Whether this is a phantom ailment or a legitimate case of biceps tendinitis, the break should benefit Wheeler who has been absolutely horrific over his last two starts (15 ER in 3 2/3 IP). Owners should exhibit patience with Wheeler and stash him during this brief DL stint.
