Justin Verlander threw 5.1 IP of a perfect game before falling apart in the sixth inning Wednesday in Seattle. He finished his night with 5.2 IP, four hits, three runs, one walk, and 11 strikeouts. He threw 110 pitches with 75 going for strikes.
Fantasy Impact:
Frankly, Verlander is a baffling fantasy asset, and this start is a perfect microcosm of his season. He can be so dominant one moment, then so hittable the next. You have to keep rostering him because of his ridiculous potential, and his inconsistency makes it difficult to value him on the trade market. Owners might as well strap in because Verlander's season will likely continue to be a roller coaster ride.
