Martin Perez gets win Thursday night

by Steve Painter | Pirates Correspondent | Fri, Jun 23rd 12:20am EDT

Martin Perez pitched six innings against the Blue Jays Thursday night allowing nine hits, four runs (three earned), and two walks while recording three strikeouts in a game when all four runs scored against him were with two outs in the fifth. The Rangers' offense beat up Blue Jay starter Marcus Stroman pretty bad and led the team to an 11-4 victory. With the win, Perez's season record improves to 4-6. He will pitch again Tuesday against Mike Clevinger and the Indians in Cleveland.

Fantasy Impact:

Perez carries an elevated 4.27 FIP to go with a 4.70 ERA and a WHIP north of 1.50. Not much fantasy appeal in those numbers.
