Luis Cessa only lasts five innings

by Chris Zolli | Royals Correspondent | Sat, Jun 24th 2:56pm EDT

Luis Cessa allowed three runs on three hits in five innings against the Rangers on Saturday. Cessa struck out eight and allowed two walks, getting done in by a two-run home run by Carlos Gomez. He has a 6.57 ERA this season and will face the White Sox in Chicago on June 29.

Fantasy Impact:

Cessa will continue to get opportunities with CC Sabathia on the disabled list and the eight strikeouts are a career high. The Yankees will look for more length from Cessa in his next outing, as he only has nine innings in his two starts, but he does have 13 strikeouts against four walks in 12 1/3 innings this season. Todd Frazier is 2-for-2 with a double against Cessa and the 25-year-old is not a good start in Chicago.
