Adeiny Hechavarria could be traded within the next 24 hours

The Marlins are reportedly going to trade Adeiny Hechavarria, and the expectation is that he could be traded within the next 24 to 48 hours, according to Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald. The Tampa Bay Rays and San Diego Padres are rumored to be interested, with the Rays being considered the frontrunners, according to MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro. (Clark Spencer on Twitter)

Hechavarria is a slick-fielding shortstop who has not shown much at the plate in his four full seasons in the league. His career batting average is .255, and he has just 15 home runs and 26 stolen bases. It is always possible that his bat heats up in a new location, but he should not be considered a viable fantasy option regardless of where he ends up.
