Gio Gonzalez (7-2) allowed one run on two hits and five walks in six innings in Monday's loss to the Cubs. He struck out eight.

Gonzalez struggled with his command on Monday with the five walks and needing 123 pitches to get through six innings. But he pitched well enough to get the win but the Nationals offense took the night off. The lefty is having an all-star caliber season with his seven wins and 2.87 ERA over 16 starts.
