Robert Gsellman injured in loss to Marlins

Robert Gsellman pulled up lame running to first base attempting to beat out an infield single in the top of the fourth inning in the Mets' 6-3 loss to the Marlins on Tuesday. He suffered a hamstring strain and his official diagnosis is forthcoming later today. A DL stint for Gsellman is likely. Before his injury, he was having another sub-par outing. In his three innings of work against Miami, he allowed five hits and three earned runs with four Ks. Gsellman's ERA on the season now stands at a robust 6.16.

Fantasy Impact:

The wonderful Mets' strength and training staff strikes again. With a DL stint on the horizon for Gsellman, the only member of the Mets' starting pitching staff (heading into 2017) to not have any DL time this season is now Jacob deGrom. As for Gsellman, he should be dropped in all re-draft and shallow keeper formats (if he hasn't been already). It's time to bid Mr. Gsellman a fond farewell in all but the very deepest of dynasty formats.
