Michael Conforto still not allowed to swing a bat, timetable uncertain

Despite having had two x-rays which came back negative on his wrist, the Mets still have no timetable for Michael Conforto's return to the lineup. At this point Conforto, who was hit by a pitch this past weekend and is dealing with what has been deemed a "bone bruise" is still in a lot of pain and is not allowed to swing a bat. It is likely Conforto may miss games through this upcoming weekend. (NY Post)

Fantasy Impact:

Even after the x-ray results came back, knowing this was the Mets' medical staff, Conforto owners likely anticipated more than a short term absence of one or two games. The Mets, generally, have not been forthcoming when providing accurate injury news or timetables for return. At this point, owners in daily leagues should monitor the situation. Owners in weekly leagues who fell for the Mets' standard "he could be back tomorrow" trap can only hope he gets some productive ABs in this scoring period. That said, given Terry Collins' affinity for unproductive veterans, this injury is just the excuse he needs to keep Conforto on the bench for a few days even after his wrist begins to feel better.
